One of the ewels in Rome is th park of Villa Borghese, a real green oasis in the heart of the city. It is the fourth biggest park of the capital and it offers an amazing view from the top. It is located between the luxury area of Via Veneto, Spanish Steps, Piazza del Popolo and the elegant neighborhood of Parioli. Not only trees, flowers and grass are not the only things present inside Villa Borghese.
The park takes name by the huge house that host the museum, Galleria Borghese, with a lot of important artworks made by the most famous artists in the history, like Caravaggio, Bernini, Canova, Raffaello, Tiziano and many others. The Borghese museums includes also collections of archeological finds, De Chirico sculptures, modern art and the house of Carlo Bilotti, a famous sculptor.
Arounde the gardens visitors can see statues of different historical periods and Roman artifacts. It is possible to spend a day among visits, walk in nature and a break in a coffee place or in a restaurant, especially the ones located close to the Pincio terrace, from where you can enjoy one of the best panorama of Rome. Villa Borghese offers also a small artificial lake with an island where it is located and ancient temple.
For who likes animal it is recommended a visit to the zoo inside the park. To have a break I suggest to go to Casina Valadier, a bar and restaurant quite popular in the city for the great view and the luxury setting. In particular the elegant restaurant has a menu able to unite tradition and innovation, giving the chance to the guests to taste the best Italian food products, thanks to the selected high-quality ingredients and the recipes realized.
There are also some revisited Mediterranean dishes proposed by the chef that shows a superb creativity. In the bar it is possible to have all day long bevarges and snacks, but maybe the best time is befeore dinner, when visitors can enoy an appetizer that includes very good wines and cocktails accompained by seasonal dishes. This is one of the lovely way to live Rome.
