One of the jewels in Rome is the park of Villa Borghese, a real green oasis in the heart of the city. It is the fourth biggest park in the capital and it offers an amazing view from the top. It is located between the luxury area of Via Veneto, Spanish Steps, Piazza del Popolo, and the elegant neighborhood of Parioli. Not only trees, flowers, and grass are not the only things present inside Villa Borghese.
The park takes a name after the huge house that hosts the museum, Galleria Borghese, with a lot of important artworks made by the most famous artists in history, like Caravaggio, Bernini, Canova, Raffaello, Tiziano, and many others. The Borghese museums includes also collections of archeological finds, De Chirico sculptures, modern art, and the house of Carlo Bilotti, a famous sculptor.
Around the gardens, visitors can see statues of different historical periods and Roman artifacts. It is possible to spend a day among visits, walk in nature and a break in a coffee place or a restaurant, especially the ones located close to the Pincio terrace, from where you can enjoy one of the best panoramas of Rome. Villa Borghese offers also a small artificial lake with an island where it is located and an ancient temple.
For who likes animal it is recommended a visit to the zoo inside the park. To have a break I suggest going to Casina Valadier, a bar and restaurant quite popular in the city for the great view and the luxury setting. In particular, the elegant restaurant has a menu able to unite tradition and innovation, giving the chance to the guests to taste the best Italian food products, thanks to the selected high-quality ingredients and the recipes realized.
There are also some revisited Mediterranean dishes proposed by the chef that shows superb creativity. In the bar, it is possible to have all day long beverages and snacks, but maybe the best time is before dinner when visitors can enjoy an appetizer that includes very good wines and cocktails accompanied by seasonal dishes. This is one of the lovely ways to live in Rome.
