The important event for luxury watch market is going to increase the number of watchmaker. Six new producers will take part in SIHH 2018, with a total of 3 companies to propose the new objects for lovers of this kind of article. Innovation, exclusivity and art will be the keywords of the new edition of the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie in Geneve, Switzerland, that will open on next 15th January.
The news about the great event this year are more than the growth of exhibitors. There are five changes to look forward, that will help to catch the evolution of the market. Visitors interest will be for sure focused on the new brands represented in the fair. On Monday in Geneva there will be 18 historic maisons and 17 in the Carre des Horlogers aisle. The new companies in the fair are Hermès, Armin Strom, DeWitt, Chronométrie Ferdinand Berthoud, Élégante by F.P. Journe and Romain Gauthier.
The second aspect concer the new CEOs, infact different brands changed their board recently and Montblanc, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Ulysse Nardin and Vacheron Constantin will show a new direction, decided by the new responsibles of the brands. This is for sure part of the innovation of very important companies in the sector. The maisons will present the products with the new CEOs style in the brands’ manaement.
The new dimension is the third factor of the change: there will be some ”White Boxes” to givethe chance to digital media to make their reports about the fair live. In this way visitors and exhibitors can be updated all the time. Also there will be a new auditorium with 100 seats for the presentations, interviews and debates.
The last important thing to be considered is the ”Beauty of Time”, the exhibition created and realized by Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie in order to give historical products and information about the sector. Meanwhile Cartier will present another exhibition dedicated to mystery clocks of the brand.
