We had a little bit of snow in Alaska but it decided to rain this weekend, so it is gone.

Maybe it is too early and there is time in winter, but I like a lot the snow so I was happy today…now it is snowing less and the snow is mixed with rain, so no snow anymore…
I guess that Alaska is colder than here and you have a lot of snow in autumn/winter season

WOW! What a surprise you already have snow! I am living 300 south of the artic circle and I have hardly even a drop a snow at this time of the year! Indeed, I heard from news this evening that we had the least snow at this time of the year! For example in Lapland, at this time, there should be an average of 20 cm snow in previous years… but now ZERO! The world’s weather is changing drastically. Although many of us are not complaining, but our tourism companies are definitely suffering with these changes as we should have snow to start the ski season, but now they are sustaining through man-made snow and those stored from last years… a lot more costlier to run when the temperature has been continuously + 4 to 8 degrees since the beginning of Oct!

Really? You now, on my wish list I have Lapland, but of course I would love to see it full of snow because this is the image that I have in my mind. I can imagine the situation. When I was a child it was normal to ski also on the highest hills in my region, but in the last years our mountains suffered. Maybe it is changing, but for today everything is already finished because the rain is mixed with the snow now and it cleans everything from the white blanket that this morning was covering roofs and fields. Here we had even more than 15°C till around ten days ago but know it is around 0°C.

It usually snows only a little in the Seattle metro area. We are never ready for a substantial snowfall.

We forgot about it, because it is rare to have snow. Watching pictures about my region around 40-50 years ago, I can see that it was always full of snow between mid autumn to early spring. Of course we are not anymore ready as well.

I live in a country where we have no snow so seeing these photos allows me to live vicariously through you. Thank you for the great post as always!
