Malmö hotel: in the bed of history

Searching for a hotel in Malmö I wanted to choose luxury, but also something particular. The results was great. I slept in the bed of history in Malmö hotel. Five stars hotels are not present in the Swedish city, but there is a good variety of four stars, mainly concentrated between the railway station and the main square. In fact, in front of the channel, there is Elite Hotel Savoy, a few steps from the shopping street Södergatan and the most important attractions, including the parks.

The structure is part of a Swedish chain called Elite. Checking the notes about the story of the hotel I learned that the name Savoy has a connection with the Savoy hotel in London. They have chosen it in honor of the British famous accommodation. It was used by many important people during the past century. Fritiofsberg Nilsson Piraten and Sten Broman stayed at this hotel in Malmö. Also, Lenin, before to move to Stockholm and then Saint Petersburg, passed by the building. He had a sandwich at the restaurant.

Elite Hotel Savoy born from a tavern experience started in the XIV century. We can just try to imagine how many people passed by this building in different centuries. Somehow I was in bed with the history. Now I go directly to my impressions about my stay there, unfortunately already finished.

The hotel

The structure has a great position in Malmö, as a starting point to explore the city and also to go to the train station. The building is old and well kept, but inside there is modern equipment. The contemporary design is the main element of the rooms, quite spacious and with an elegant setting. The bed is big and each detail in the room is taken into consideration. The interior of the hotel in Malmö and the equipment deserve a high grade in the evaluation. These elements constitute only part of the good feedback.

The staff is kind and friendly, ready to support the guests at each moment of the stay. For any need. As well the breakfast is great, with a complete buffet. I had also the chance to use the restaurant, but I will give you more details in my next post. I didn’t try the spa, but maybe next time I will do it. Of course, I strongly recommend this hotel because I had a very good experience. Traveling for business reasons I always need comfort and punctual services.
