A gourmet experience in Rome

I wrote about Hotel Splendide Royal, a great exaple of the traditional luxury hospitality of Rome. Now it is time to share with you the sensorial experience I had at Mirabelle, the restaurant of the hotel. Located on the 7th floor of the building it offers an amazing view of Villa Borghese and of the Vatican, in particular the Cupola. The beautiful panorama is anyway the last reason to choose the place. Infact the elegant setting is perfectly on line with the rest of the hotel, really royal. During summer the terrace is open, but in the cold season there is the opportunity to have a dinner inside, thanks to the glass the view is guaranteed. There is a lot of space between the tables, to ensure the privacy to the customers. The staff is very kind, professional, well prepared and discrete. Each dish is explained by the waiters and the maitre is available to suggest about recipes and wines choice. On the menu there are pasta, fish, meat, all cooked by the chef with great ability, especially for the combination of tastes. The high quality ingredients are selected according to the season and guests can try the regional and the Mediterranean recipes. To enter is necessary to observe the dress code, just smart casual. During the morning the breakfast buffet is going to welcome the guests inside one of the restaurant dining rooms. It is one of the greatest food expositions I have ever had in hotels around the world. You can easily find almost everything.
